SwiftSeg is a software studio based in Virginia. We design and engineer software tooling for people doing real work — from the household tracking its cash flow to the firm signing off on a cost-segregation study at 6pm on a Friday.
We are small on purpose. We plan to stay that way for as long as we can defend it.
Every system we ship should make the next one faster to build. Patterns earn their keep. One-offs carry their own cost.
Three people, for now. We'd rather ship fewer surfaces than run a committee. Size is a feature until it isn't.
We use the tools we actually understand. Fewer dependencies. Fewer apologies. If it's in the stack, someone here can rebuild it.
Most of what we write will be rewritten. Good architecture makes that cheap; bad architecture makes it impossible.
If a customer's spreadsheet does the job, our product had better clearly beat it. Not on features — on outcome.

Does most of the shipping. Designs when he can get away with it — designed this site, too. Lives in TypeScript, dreams in schemas.
On engineering from day one. Picks up the work nobody else wants to pick up. Has strong opinions about caching.
The studio operates out of Virginia. We work on Eastern time, Monday through Friday. We travel to meet customers when it earns its weight; otherwise we'd rather ship.
If you're in VA and you'd like to grab coffee, we'd probably say yes.
Pitch us a product. Ask about a pilot. Tell us what you're working on. The inbox is read by the studio.
